To wake up from your coma by “pulling yourself” through your mind while piecing back together your fragmented memories to remember who you are in life.
REASONS BEHIND CONCEPT
I always found the human mind intriguing and a mystery to solve on what can the brain do in certain circumstances and why does the brain react in certain circumstances, which in this case is being in a coma. For a person being in a coma, I wanted to know if one can truly dream, can they hear their loved ones talking to them, can they recognize familiar/unfamiliar sounds? If they can, can a person truly wake from it? Or is there no activity at all when in a deep coma? I did some research on these questions and found how in some cases, a person's mind has brain activity from recognizing sounds (music, voices), but there are other times where there is no activity at all in the brain, depending how deep in a coma a person is and more. Knowing this info (and there is a lot. I want to make sure if I'm doing a coma game that I get all the medical details correct), I decided to play with "what if" question on what if I designed a game that would only work best in VR and having the players understand what a coma person might dream about from the activites (sound, touch) from the real world that can affect the character's mind's thoughts. On top of that, I wanted to bring in some suspense and mess with the player's mind in having them ask themselves after experiencing this character's mind, can a player still determine and judge a person if they are morally "right" or "wrong" after being exposed of the character's life and choices.
